Have you ever felt happy when someone remembers you? Maybe a friend calls to check on you, or someone thanks you for something kind you did. It feels good to be remembered. But did you know that when we remember Allah, He remembers us too?
In Surah Al-Baqarah (2:152), Allah says:
“Remember Me, I will remember you. Thank Me and do not be ungrateful to me.”
What Does This Mean?
This verse is a beautiful reminder that our connection with Allah is a two-way relationship. When we think about Him, call upon Him, or pray to Him, He responds by giving us His mercy, help, and guidance. Allah is always available to guide us, all we need to do is remember Him and we will be supported.
How Can We Remember Allah?
-
Through prayer – Even a simple “Bismillah” before doing something is a way of remembering Him.
-
Through gratitude – Saying “Alhamdulillah” (All praise to Allah) when something good happens reminds us that all blessings come from Him.
-
Through patience – Trusting Allah when things are hard is also a way of remembering Him.
Why Does This Matter?
Life can be difficult sometimes, but knowing that Allah is always there for us makes everything easier. When we remember Him, we feel stronger, more peaceful, and closer to the right path. When we thank Allah, we remember all the good things in our lives and all the ways we have been blessed – if we are grateful Allah gives us more, including better characters and more patience. So, let’s make a habit of remembering Allah daily—because He never forgets us.
