51. Be Humble in Your Worship of Allah

Some people think that being powerful, wealthy, or famous means they don’t need to humble themselves before Allah. But in the Quran, Allah reminds us that even the greatest among creation—like the prophets and angels—worship Him.

In Surah An-Nisa (4:172), Allah says:

“He will gather before Him the arrogant and all those who are too proud to worship Him.”

What Does This Mean?

  • Even the most honored creations of Allah worship Him. Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him) and the angels never thought themselves too great to submit to Allah.

  • Pride and arrogance lead people away from Allah. Those who refuse to worship out of pride will be held accountable.

  • Allah will gather everyone to Him. Whether a person is humble or arrogant, they will one day return to Allah and face the truth.

How Can We Apply This in Our Lives?

  • Never think you are too important to need Allah. No matter how busy or successful we become, worshipping Allah should always be our priority.

  • Follow the example of the prophets and angels. If even they humbled themselves before Allah, why shouldn’t we?

  • Avoid arrogance. Pride can make a person feel self-sufficient, but true success comes from recognising our need for Allah.

Why Does This Matter?

This verse reminds us that true greatness comes from worshipping Allah, not from status, power, or pride. No one is too important to bow before their Creator, and those who humble themselves will be blessed by Allah in this life and the next.
