In Surah An-Nisa (4:110), Allah says:
“He who does evil or is unjust to himself and later prays to ask Allah to forgive him will find Allah to be the Most Forgiving, the Mercy Giver”
What Does This Mean?
-
Nobody is perfect, but what matters is what we do after we realise our mistakes.
-
Seeking forgiveness brings Allah’s mercy. No matter how big the mistake, if we turn back to Allah with sincerity, He will forgive us.
-
Sins harm us more than anyone else. When we do wrong, we don’t just disobey Allah—we also harm our own hearts and souls.
How Can We Apply This in Our Lives?
-
Never lose hope in Allah’s mercy. No sin is too big for Allah’s forgiveness if we sincerely repent.
-
Ask for forgiveness. Say Astaghfirullah (I seek forgiveness from Allah) when you make mistakes.
-
Try not to repeat mistakes. True repentance means feeling regret and making an effort to change.
Why Does This Matter?
This verse reminds us that Allah’s doors of mercy are always open. No matter how far we have strayed, we can always return to Allah – and Allah will welcome us with forgiveness and love.
