40. When There Is Sincere Effort, Allah Brings Hearts Together

Have you ever seen two people arguing, but when they both try to fix things, their relationship becomes stronger? Allah teaches us that if two people truly want to mend their relationship, He will help them find a way.

In Surah An-Nisa (4:35), Allah says:

“If they both want to get along with each other, Allah will bring them together. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.”

What Does This Mean?

  • Fixing relationships requires effort from both sides. If one person wants peace but the other does not, the problem will remain.

  • Allah helps those who sincerely try. When both people truly want to solve the issue, Allah blesses their efforts.

  • Allah knows what’s in our hearts. Even if we pretend to want peace but secretly hold grudges, Allah is aware of our true intentions and we will never find peace in that relationship.

How Can We Apply This in Our Lives?

  • Be sincere in solving problems. Don’t just apologise or talk—truly work toward peace.

  • Give people a chance to change. If someone is trying to make things better, don’t shut them out.

  • Pray for guidance. Ask Allah to soften hearts and bring understanding.

Why Does This Matter?

This verse reminds us that relationships—whether in marriage, family, or friendships—can be healed if both sides are willing. When we truly try to fix things, Allah blesses our efforts and helps bring hearts back together. But if one side doesn’t want to, or isn’t able to put the work in to build on the relationship, the relationship won’t work.
