33. Forgive and Move Forward

Have you ever been hurt by someone? Maybe they said something mean, or they let you down. It’s easy to hold onto anger, but Allah teaches us that forgiveness is better, and it brings us closer to Him.

In Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:159), Allah commands:

“So forgive them and ask forgiveness for them, and speak with them about matters; then when you decided, put your trust in Allah. Allah loves those who trust Him.”

What Does This Mean?

  • Forgive people when they make mistakes. Holding onto anger only hurts us in the end.

  • Ask Allah to forgive them. Instead of wishing bad for someone, make dua that Allah guides them.

  • Still include them in important matters. Even if someone made a mistake, they shouldn’t be cut off completely—give them a chance to improve.

How Can We Apply This in Our Lives?

  • Forgive, even when it’s hard. Not for them, but for yourself. Forgiveness brings peace.

  • Pray for those who hurt you. It softens your heart and helps you heal.

  • Don’t hold grudges. Life is too short to stay angry—let go and move forward.

Why Does This Matter?

This verse teaches us that forgiveness is not a weakness—it’s a strength. When we forgive, we free ourselves from negativity and grow closer to Allah. Mercy, kindness, and patience make us better people and bring us peace.
