30. The Best People Are Those Who Give and Forgive

What makes someone truly great in the eyes of Allah? Is it how much they pray? How much knowledge they have? Allah tells us in the Quran that one of the best qualities a person can have is generosity and forgiveness.

In Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:134), Allah says:

“For those who donate to charity when life is easy and also when there are hardships, and those who control their anger and those who forgive people, Allah loves those who do good things.”

What Does This Mean?

Allah describes the best people as those who:

  • Give charity no matter what. Whether they have a lot or a little, they always help others.

  • Control their anger. Even when they have a reason to be upset, they stay calm.

  • Forgive others. Instead of holding grudges, they let go and choose peace.

  • Do good. Allah loves people who constantly try to be better.

How Can We Apply This in Our Lives?

  • Be generous even when it’s hard. You don’t need to be rich to help others—sharing kindness, time, and knowledge is also charity.

  • Don’t let anger control you. Take a deep breath, walk away, and ask Allah for patience.

  • Forgive, even when it’s difficult. Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting—it means choosing peace over revenge.

Why Does This Matter?

Allah loves those who do good. When we give, forgive, and stay patient, we are not just improving our own character—we are earning Allah’s love and mercy. The best people are not those who have the most, but those who give the most and forgive the most.
