Sometimes, we look at people who seem to have everything—money, success, power—and we wonder, why do they have so much? Other times, we see people lose everything overnight, and it reminds us how quickly life can change. But in the Quran, Allah tells us that true power and control belong to Him alone.
In Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:26), Allah says:
“Oh Allah, Lord of all that you rule, You give the power to rule to whom You will, and You take away the power to rule from whom You will; You give honour to whom You will, and you bring humiliation to whom You will. Goodness is in Your hand. You are All-Powerful in all things.’”
What Does This Mean?
This verse reminds us that everything—success, wealth, status—comes from Allah. No one keeps power forever. If someone is rich today, they may be poor tomorrow. If someone is famous today, they may be forgotten in the future. Allah is the One who gives and takes, lifts and lowers, honors and humbles.
How Can We Apply This in Our Lives?
-
Stay humble. If you have something good, thank Allah because it’s from Him.
-
Don’t envy others. If someone else has more than you, remember that Allah gives different people different tests.
-
Trust Allah’s plan. If you lose something, know that Allah is in control and has something better for you.
The Most Important Lesson
True power and success are not about how much money or status we have—it’s about our connection with Allah. When we remember that Allah controls everything, we stop fearing people and start trusting Him.
